FRUIT 'N TUNA PITA

I. Combine the first 4 ingredients in the medium bowl. Stir
2. Combine the next 4 ingredients in the small bowl. Mix. Fold the salad dressing mixture into the chicken mixture until coated.

each pit bread open at one end. Fill each pit with mixture.

SALAD SANDWICHES
INGREDIENTS
Medium tomato
Grated carrot
Green onion,
thinly sliced
Half a green,
yellow or red pepper, sliced
Grated Cheddar

4 small lettuce

1. Cut the tomato in half on the cutting board. Gently squeeze over the paper towel to remove the seeds. Discard the seeds and juice. Dice the tomato into chunks.
2. Combine the tomato with the carrot, green onion, pepper and cheese in the bowl. Stir. Add the dressing and toss the mixture together
3. Place 2 lettuce leaves in middle of each tortilla. Leave some tortilla uncovered at one end to fold up envelope-style. Spread some of the Vegas mixture over the lettuce. Fold the bottom of the tortilla up and then fold each side in. Leave the top open. Wrap in the paper towels to eat. Makes 2 sandwiches.
You can't get
any easier than this. Have paper napkins handy

HOT DOG HEAVEN!
INGREDIENTS
2 hot dogs
2 tbs. (15 ml)
jelly (grape, apple or red currant jelly)
1 tbs. (I5 ml)
chili sauce or ketchup

1. Cut each wiener into 6 or 7 pieces. Place all the pieces in the bowl.
2. Spoon the jelly and the chili sauce over the wiener slices. Stir to coat.
3. Microwave on high (100%) for 2 minutes. Stir. Use the oven mitts to remove the bowl to the hot pad.
4. Serve with the toothpicks to eat this snack. Serves 2 or 3.

PIZZA PETITE
INGREDIENTS
English muffin
Pizza sauce

Toast muffin halves on medium toaster setting. Put toasted halves on cookie sheet.
Top each muffin

pizza sauce

Bake in overt
about 5 minutes o~ until cheese is melted.
Use pancake turner to place on plate.
TO MICROWAVE: Toast English muffin halves, top with pizza sauce and cheese as directed above.
HINT: Don't stop there! You might also try adding some sliced olives, crumbled cooked hamburger, chopped tomato, sliced pepperoni or another favorite toppings before putting cheese on muffin half.
Put a microwavable paper towel on microwavable plate. Place muffin halves on the paper towel. Microwave uncovered on high (100%) 30 to 45 seconds or until cheese is melted.
Cool slightly before eating.

1. 4 grapefruit

1. Make
hole in top of each grapefruit and hollow out the insides.
2. Strain
juice and discard pulp.
3. Combine
the strained grapefruit juice, lemonade, frozen yogurt, and soda in blender.

5. Pour
liquid into hollow grapefruit. Serve with a straw sticking out of
the hole.

1. To make a foundation for the Hedge Hog, slice bottom off cabbage to create a flat surface. This is the Hedge Hog's body! Set this on large plate, flat side down.
2. Stick
toothpicks all over the cabbage to form "quills" for the Hedge Hog.
3. Stick
small pieces of fruits and veggies onto the quills, enough to cover the
whole hog.

1. Spread 4 slices of bread with peanut butter and top each with another slice of bread to made a sandwich.

3. Set 4 triangles on each plate (the triangles form the critter's faces, so leave some room between them).
4. Stick 2 raisins near the top (wide) section to make eyes.
5. Use half a cherry for the nose.
6. Break
twisted pretzels in half and stick into proper place to make antler shapes
for reindeer critters, then improvise other types of ear shapes from celery,
carrots, fresh parsley, etc. to create other critters!

6. Bake
in oven for about 3 hours at 140.
7. Cool
and roll in plastic wrap to store.

1. On cutting board, cut the banana down the center lengthwise through the skin being careful not to cut through to the other side.
2. Spread the banana open slightly. Lay on the plate, cut side up.
3. Sprinkle chocolate chips (about 1 Tablespoon) and marshmallows (about 1/4 cup) inside the banana.
4. Microwave on high (100%) for 1 minute 30 seconds. Remove the plate using potholders. Let plate stand for about 1 minute. Sprinkle with walnuts or peanuts and serve yourself!

1. Wash apple.
Ask an adult to help you remove the core from the apple.
2. Put cream
cheese in a small bowl and beat with wooden spoon until soft and smooth.
Stir in raisins and cinnamon. Add brown sugar if desired.
3. Use a table
knife to stuff the centre of the apple with the cream cheese mixture. Cover
with plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour, or until cold and firm.
4. With a sharp
knife, cut apple into wedges and arrange, skin side down, on a serving
plate. Serve at once.

1. Place tuna
in a sieve and rinse with cold water (this step is not necessary if the
tuna is packed in water or broth rather than oil). Drain well.
2. Place drained
tuna in mixing bowl and use a fork to break up the large chunks. Wash and
chop celery. Add celery, relish, and mayonnaise to tuna and stir with the
fork to mix well. Add salt and pepper to taste.
3. Spoon the
tuna salad into the ice cream cones and top each cone with a cherry tomato,
a radish (wash both first), or a pickle slice.

1. Combine drink mix, sugar, and gelatin mix in a bowl.
2. Pour the boiling water over dry ingredients. Stir until dissolved.
3. Add cold water. Stir well.
4. Pour 1/3 cup liquid into each plastic bag.
5. Seal the bags with a twist tie and stand them in muffin fins. Freeze.
